Tsoureki...for those of you not familiar

Tsoureki. What is it? Well, it is our favourite bread that we normally eat in Australia at Easter time. It is Greek (although many other countries have similar styles of bread). In Greece you can get it more frequently. It is a real challenge and art to produce a good tsoureki. It's well worth it when you find the right one.

To give a better description to our local friends, it is like Challah, but in my view is even better because it's sweeter (yes..that's right!). I love Challah, expecially because you can get it every week for Shabbat. I'll miss it extremely and will be trying to seek out a bakery back in Oz that makes it.

Maria's cousin Olga has kindly sent us loaves on a couple of occasions through the post, for which we are eternally grateful. Thanks Olga!
