Sun 26-Apr-09 (kids join us again, sleep - Maria trying something different)

Last night Maria had four hours sleep! Praise God! This is only the fifth time since the operation (8 1/2 weeks ago) that this has happened for her.

As it was a nice warm day, while Maria received physio this morning at home (she and Diana are really developing such a blessed relationship), the kids and I did a lengthy bike ride which led us to the icecream shop on the beach. The return home carrying a few more calories was a little more challenging.

This evening we took the kids again to the hospital while Maria had her therapy. It has become a little drawn out of late with delayed starts for a range of reasons (some not known to us). This gave the kids the chance to play more on the computers. We sat and picnicked again in the Cancer Centre, to the enjoyment/amusement of other patients waiting around.

As mentioned in yesterday's entry, Maria is exhausted to the point where she is finding it far more difficult to function (she is still doing a good job, even looking through things to dispose of before our return to Australia). She decided at 9:30pm to try and sleep. Since the operation she has not (to my memory) gone to bed this early. Her fear is that she'll wake after her regulation 2 hours sleep and then be awake throughout the night. I encouraged her to try it anyway, as you can see the exhaustion written all over her. Here's praying.
