Due to some sort of confusion at the Thanksgiving Service, the order was thrown a little out, which meant our dear friend Kathryn missed out on reading her closing prayer.
I was fortunate that Kathryn gave me a copy of her prayer. I wanted to share it.
Gracious and loving father
We give thanks again for the blessing Maria has been to our lives. We openly acknowledge our deep sadness in no longer having her here with us but find comfort and hope in the truth that she is with You.
Father, in the coming weeks, months and years will You continue to bring comfort and peace to our hearts. We pray this is especially true for Troy., Ben and Gabi and the extended Parakilas and Kaizik families. As the community of friends surrounding them, help us to be a tangible expression of Your love towards them.
Jesus, as we reflect on Maria's love and faith in You may it cause us to trust in, rely upon and draw nearer to You.
We rest in the promise that neither death, nor life, neither angels or demons, neither the present or the future, nor anything else in all creation can separate us from the love found in You.
