Sat 5-Jun-10 (Footy, Australia's day in sport?)

Ben played way up at the top end of Canberra this morning. The boys (and girl) found themselves 6-0 down in the first minute of play, but stormed away with 56 unanswered points, to finish 56-6. The boys were so excited and enjoyed singing their team song at the end. The only downside to the game was that one of their boys badly broke his wrist towards the end of the match.

This afternoon we went to Mike's place. The kids had dinner together, followed by Leah, Mike and me. We four "boys" headed off to see the Wallabies (Australia) play rugby against Fiji, while the three "girls" watched a DVD.

It was cold at the game (fortunately we were a little protected in the stands). The first half a little disappointing, finishing 7-3 to Australia. They clicked into gear in the second half with a final score of 49-3. It was very entertaining. We all had thermals on under our clothes. When we got back to Mike's we chatted a little and didn't get home until 10:30pm.

It is now just after 11:00pm and Samantha Stosur has started the French Open tennis final. Could she cap off a great night for Australia with a win? If so, it would be the first Australian female to win the tournament since 1973 (Margaret Court).

Australia are also playing the USA in the last friendly game before the World Cup Football (soccer). I think they were starting around this time also.
