For those of you familiar with the first surgery, you'll notice there is an additional incision coming out onto the forehead. That said, as you can see from the subsequent shots, the neurosurgeon didn't come all the way down on the left and didn't have to make any incision on the right. The original scar is fading somewhat. Unfortunately there is no real hair growth in the areas that were irradiated. As mentioned before, there may be future growth, but there may not.
Maria has never sought to wear a wig and it has been helpful for Ben and Gabi's peers to see Maria "as she is" on the few occasions she has been able to visit the school.
Here's praying that the suture removal will be a little less stressful than when Effie did it after the first surgery!
